Necklace of agate slices with opalite and emeralds. Matching opalite and emerald earrings.
The owner of my favorite bead store, Alley Cat Beads, just returned from the big bead show in Arizona and of course I had to go check out the treasures she returned with. She had some absolutely gorgeous Agate slices ranging from maroon to palest pink and when I saw the strand of faceted Emerald, it made me think of Spring.
The Agate focal stone is about 2 1/4" (5 1/2cm) across and ranges from just under 2" (5cm) tall at it's tallest to 3/4" (2cm) at the narrowest end. The other Agate slices range from about 1" (2 1/2cm) across at the smallest to about 1 3/4" (4cm) at the widest. The small Emerald rounds are 4mm and the faceted Emeralds are about 10mm each. The faceted Opalite rounds are about 6mm diameter. The spacers are 24k gold plated hexagons. The toggle clasp is 14k gold plated. The whole thing is strung on 24k gold plated flex wire. It has a steel core and a 20lb break weight. The overall necklace length is 22 1/2" (57cm).
The earrings are Emerald and Opalite stones with gold hexagon spacers on gold plated leverback pierced earrings. The small Emerald rounds are 4mm and the faceted Emeralds are about 10mm each. The faceted Opalite rounds are about 6mm diameter. The spacers are 24k gold plated hexagons. The dangles themselves are just over 1 1/2" (4cm) long measured from the based of the earring. These earrings can be converted to clip-on style on request.
All items are made in a smoke free home. We don't have cats or other pets (as we don't count our daughter's imaginary friends). We do have one short hair dog (chihuahua/terrier mix). She doesn't help with the crafting, but her 'dogginess' is in the air.
